HOUSING RECOVERY HELP
Harris County has secured almost one billion dollars from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to buyout at-risk houses, rehabilitate damaged ones and construct new single- and multi-family housing.
The Harris County Flood Control District is buying houses in areas several feet deep in the floodplain and restoring them to their natural function, helping to avoid millions of dollars in damage.
